An industrial visit for the 1st-year D. Pharm students (Admission Batch 2025) was organised at Universal Chemicals & Pharmaceutical Industry, Jagatpur, Cuttack, on 24th April 2026. Around 35 students participated in the visit under the guidance of Dr. Gyanada Sankar Dash and Miss. Ipsita Kar.

The visit commenced with an informative presentation on the company’s organogram, infrastructure, and growth status, providing students with an overview of pharmaceutical industrial operations. Students were then taken on a guided tour of various units, including dispensing, granulation, lubrication, compression, packaging, and R&D sections.

During the visit, students observed the functioning of important pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality control equipment such as high mixing granulators, fluid bed dryers, octagonal blenders, tablet compression and coating machines, blister packing machines, UV spectrophotometer, dissolution and disintegration test apparatus, refractometer, and friability test apparatus. They also gained knowledge about primary and secondary packaging processes.

Overall, the visit offered valuable practical exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and helped students connect theoretical knowledge with real-time industrial practices.
