As part of the Pharmacognosy curriculum, Diploma First Year students (Admission Batch 2025) of KIIT School of Pharmacy visited the Medical Plant Knowledge Centre, Patrapada, Bhubaneswar, in accordance with the guidelines of the Pharmacy Council of India. Faculty members Mrs. Jasma Jena and Ms. Sonalin Rout guided the visit. The students observed around 70 medicinal plants, including trees, shrubs, herbs, and climbers, and learned about their identification, parts used, and therapeutic applications. This field visit enhanced students’ practical understanding of natural drug sources, strengthened observational skills, and highlighted the importance of medicinal plant conservation, making it a valuable experiential learning activity.
