KIIT School of Pharmacy celebrated the 5thNational Pharmacovigilance Week on 22nd September 2025 with the theme “Your Safety, Just a Click Away: Report to PvPI.” The program, organized in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacology, aimed to promote awareness on drug safety and the importance of Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting among pharmacists. The event began with welcoming remarks from Dr. Biswaranjan Behera, Principal, KIIT School of Pharmacy, who emphasized the growing need for responsible pharmacovigilance practices and the role of pharmacists in strengthening patient safety in India. The session featured an insightful and highly informative lecture by Prof.(Dr.)MangalaCharan Das, Professor & HOD Department of Pharmacology, who elaborated on the scope of the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), the digital ease of ADR reporting, and the critical responsibility of pharmacy professionals in ensuring safe and rational medication use. The program was graced by Dr.RatikantaTripathy Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, along with faculty members and students. A Poster Making Competition on the theme was organized, receiving enthusiastic participation from students who showcased creative and insightful posters highlighting ADR reporting and patient safety. Certificates of participation were given to all participants, and the winners were awarded for their outstanding work. The event was smoothly anchored by Mrs. Jasma Jena. The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr.Pritipadma Panda, who acknowledged the contributions of the speaker, dignitaries, organizing committee, and students. The program successfully strengthened awareness on pharmacovigilance and reinforced KIIT School of Pharmacy’s commitment to fostering responsible and safety-oriented future healthcare professionals.
