KIIT School of Pharmacy observed Anti-Ragging Day 2026 under the theme #YaARI – Youth against Ragging, promoting friendship, respect, mentorship, and a safe and inclusive campus environment. The programme also marked International Youth Day, celebrating the important role of young people in building a positive, respectful, and inclusive society.
Dr. BiswaranjanBehera, Principal, highlighted the serious consequences of ragging and stressed the importance of adhering to strict anti-ragging regulations. Dr. GyanadaSankar Dash, Associate Professor, emphasized the crucial role of mentorship in supporting and guiding junior students. Ms. IpsitaKar, Assistant Professor, sensitized students about anti-ragging guidelines and declarations, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming campus.
The programme also celebrated the winners of the Essay, Debate, and Reel-Making Competitions, followed by a prize distribution ceremony. In the Debate Competition, Arpita Singh (B. Pharm, 2nd Semester) secured the 1st position, while Rajeev Ranjan Mishra (B. Pharm, 4th Semester) secured the 2nd position. In the Essay Competition, Sanskriti Das (B. Pharm, 4th Semester) won the 1st position, and SuvronilRakshitt (B. Pharm, 6th Semester) secured the 2nd position. In the Reel-Making Competition, the team comprising SK Adil Raja, Joseph Satya Prajna, Gourabh Kumar Pradhan, and JyotiRanjanMohanty secured the 1st position, while Arya Maiti, Surya Kiran Guria, and Harekrishna Panda secured the 2nd position.
The event witnessed enthusiastic and active participation from both faculty members and students. The programme was anchored by Mrs. Jasma Jena, Assistant Professor. The programmewas concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Pritipadma Panda, Cultural Event Coordinator and Associate Professor.
The event reinforced the message that a positive campus culture is built on friendship, mutual respect, mentorship, and responsibility. KIIT School of Pharmacy continues to encourage its students to uphold these values and collectively work towards a ragging-free campus.
