KIIT School of Pharmacy, KIMS, KIIT Deemed to be University, successfully organized a one-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Competency-Based Pharmacy Teaching and Research” in association with the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi, at the KIMS Auditorium, KIIT Campus-5 on 18 July 2026.About 180 faculties from more than the 30 Pharmacy Institutions participated the program
The inaugural session was graced by Mr. JashubhaiHirabhaiChaudhari, Vice-President, Pharmacy Council of India, as the Chief Guest. The distinguished dignitaries present included Prof. (Dr.) ChinnmoyBijay Kumar Mohanty, Professor Emeritus and Pro-Vice Chancellor, KIMS, KIIT Deemed to be University; Prof. (Dr.) Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Director General, KIMS; Air Vice Marshal Prof. (Dr.) Rama Chandra Das, Dean and Principal, KIMS; and Prof. (Dr.) BiswaranjanBehera, Principal, KIIT School of Pharmacy.
The FDP featured five scientific sessions delivered by eminent experts from academia and industry. Dr. M. NiranjanBabuMudduluru presented an overview of the B.Pharm Syllabus 2026, followed by Dr. DevangSheth, who elaborated on the implementation of the National EducationPolicy (NEP) 2020 and Outcome-Based Education. Prof. (Dr.) AtmaramPawar highlighted the evolving role of teachers in pedagogy, assessment, research, and skill development, while Dr.Anoop Kishore discussed the integration of artificial intelligence and future-focused approaches in pharmacy education. The final session was conducted by the USP South Asia team—Dr. KishooreMogulluru, Mr. PawanMehera, andMr. Ashok Ekku—who shared insights on strengthening pharmacy education through USP educational initiatives.
The sessions witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, researchers, and delegates from various institutions. Each session was followed by engaging interactions and discussions, with participants sharing valuable feedback during the valedictory session.
The program concluded with the concluding remarks delivered by Prof. (Dr.) BiswaranjanBehera, Principal, KIIT School of Pharmacy, who emphasized the importance of continuous faculty development and educational innovation in shaping the future of pharmacy education.
