A National Conference on “Enhancing Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance through Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)” and a session on the “Revamped Pharmaceutical Technology Upgradation Assistance Scheme (RPTUAS)” has been held today, May 30, 2025, in Bhubaneswar. The event, organized by PHDCCI, New Delhi, co-partner by Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Odisha State Branch. The venue partner was KIIT School of Pharmacy, KIMS, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar. The host for the event was Assistant Professor Jasma Jena from KIIT School of Pharmacy.

The conference commenced at 10:-00 am with delegates registering. The inaugural session began at 11:00 am with the traditional lamp lighting and the National Anthem.

The dignitaries who addressed the conference included Aditi Bhardwaj, Deputy Secretary, PHDCCI Dr. Sruti Ranjan Mishra, President, IPA Odisha State Branch, Dr. Biswaranjan Behera, Principal & Professor, KIIT School of Pharmacy, Ms. Mamina Patnaik, Drugs Controller, Directorate of Drugs Control. Mr. Yashwant sindhe, Manager, SIDBI, was present virtual and enlighted the role of RPTUAS scheme. Mr. Amit Patwal, Deputy Secretary, PHDCCI conveyed the vote of thanks.

The afternoon session, titled “Foundations and Strategies for Effective GMP Implementation,” provided a deep dive into the foundational principles of GMP and practical implementation strategies. Discussions covered essential GMP components such as quality assurance, process validation, and documentation, along with solutions to common challenges like resource constraints and technical complexities. Industry experts shared best practices to enhance compliance and ensure consistent production of high-quality medicinal products. Dr. Bhabani Shankar Nayak, Associate Professor, KIIT School of Pharmacy, KIMS, and KIIT Deemed to be University moderated the session. Other speakers in this session included Dr. Ch. Niranjan Patra, Vice Principal, Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Berhampur; Mr. Subrat Kumar Tripathy, Manager in Quality Assurance, Sapigen Biologix Pvt. Ltd.; Dr. Prafulla Nandi, Co-Founder & Director – PharmAdvis Solutions LLP; and Prof. Sushant Kumar Panda, Principal, Royal College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Berhampur.
